Association of Active Youths of Florina has a remarkable local activity with voluntary projects aiming and contributing to the local community. Among other projects the organization supports the "Child Protection Centre", informs the local society on health issues supporting the HIV campaign, organizes every June the 3 days Kids Outdoor Festival, offers free Wi-Fi access in Florina's city centre and organizes seminars on social entrepreneurship.
The organization linked to the European Commission Representation in Greece and promotes unofficially information about the European Union. In our offices you can easily access to a wide range of EU official publications.
Also, the Head of the Board of OENEF Mr. Konstantinos Filippidis is the member of Team Europe representing the region of Western Macedonia.
“Education as a tool to combat Hate Speech”:
An experiential workshop for teachers, based on the No Hate Speech Campaign” of the Council of Europe.
The Youth Counseling Station of Florina, Greece, the 2nd Lyceum of Florina and the Association of Active Youths of Florina (OENEF) organized the experiential workshop "Education as a tool to combat hate speech”. The 8-hour workshop took place on Thursday, June 16 and Thursday, June 23, 2016.
At the first meeting, on June 16th, the participants were educated on a classroom project against hate speech, based on the teacher’s manual "Bookmarks", by facilitators trained in relevant workshops by the Council of Europe. The participants were also given leaflets, hard copy manuals, and t-shirts, which were sent by the Council of Europe.
The second meeting included teaching proposals, focused on intercultural mediation to address hate speech.
